Every finish in the Studio Baldo collection is chosen for its character, depth, and longevity. We work with solid brass, natural stone, and hardwood, each sourced for its quality and finished by hand.
Metal
Solid Brass Finishes
All metal components are cast or machined from solid brass and finished by hand. Each patina is sealed to preserve its tone over time. Variation in surface character is inherent to the process and is part of what makes each piece distinct.
Brushed Brass
Satin surface with a warm, directional grain.
Aged Brass
Deepened tone with a natural, oxidized quality.
Brown Wax Polishing
Hand-waxed surface. Warm brown with subtle sheen.
Blackened Brass
Dark, matte patina applied through controlled oxidation.
Satin Nickel
Cool, brushed silver. Consistent and precise.
Nickel Plated
Reflective silver with a refined, hard finish.
Wood
Natural Hardwoods
Solid hardwoods are selected for grain density, tone, and structural integrity. Each species is finished with natural oils or waxes that preserve the wood's surface and allow it to age with character. No two pieces are identical.
Oak
Open grain, pale tone. Clean and architectural.
Seike
Dense grain with a cool, silvery undertone.
Teak
Tight grain, warm amber. Naturally resistant to moisture.
Laurel
Medium grain with complex, shifting tone.
Walnut
Rich chocolate grain. One of the most refined hardwoods.
Ebonized Wood
Darkened through controlled oxidation. Deep black with visible grain.
Ash
Pale, tight grain with a slightly cool, silvery tone.
Stone
Natural Stone
Stone is selected quarry by quarry for veining, density, and surface quality. All stone components are honed to a matte finish that emphasizes texture over reflectivity. Each piece is unique. Pattern, tone, and character vary by slab.
Verde Alpi
Deep forest green. Dense with fine white mineral lines.
Green Onyx
Translucent green with bold, flowing veins.
Portoro
Black with gold and white veining. A rare Italian marble.
Alabaster
Pale, luminous stone with soft amber variation.
Calacatta Viola
White ground with dramatic violet and grey veining.
Travertine
Warm ivory with natural pitting and layered veining.
Volcanic Rock
Raw, dense surface with a dark, porous texture. Honed finish.
